Replace Your Missing Tooth with a Permanent Bridge

A diagram of how a dental bridge works. Are you missing one or more teeth and are in need of a way to replace them? If so, your dentist might recommend the use of a permanent dental bridge in order to fill the gap.

A bridge consists of a false tooth flanked by two crowns, and the crowns will slip over the existing teeth on both sides of the gap. While some people will choose a removable option that can slip in and out of their mouth when needed, if you prefer a more permanent structure, your bridge can be cemented into place.

Why You Should Choose a Permanent Bridge

Are you trying to decide between a permanent bridge and dentures? There are a variety of great reasons for selecting a bridge that you should consider:

•  Greater stability. A permanent bridge offers greater stability than dentures because they will be bonded into place. You won't have to worry about them shifting when you laugh, eat, or speak.
•  Minimally invasive. If you are considering dental implants, but don't want to go through the extensive surgery or recovery time, a permanent bridge is a good alternative. You won't need to go through any of those procedures, and your bridge can be created, fitted, and completed in as little as two visits.
•  Long-lasting. A dental bridge could last for up to 15 years as long as you clean and maintain them properly. This involves proper dental hygiene and regular appointments with your dentist in order to monitor the health of your appliance, gums, and the rest of your teeth.
•  Less expensive. A dental bridge tends to be a more affordable option when compared to full dentures or dental implants.

Replacing your teeth doesn't have to be a painful or lengthy process. Contact out office about how a permanent bridge might be able to help to restore your teeth and smile.
